Ukraine Claims Russia’s Largest Aerial Barrage in War

Russia Unleashes Aerial Barrage on Ukraine, Killing Dozens

A devastating attack on Ukraine by Russia saw 122 missiles and numerous drones launched against Ukrainian targets, resulting in at least 30 civilian deaths and over 144 injuries. The attack lasted for approximately 18 hours, causing widespread damage and destruction across the country.

In Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, the aftermath of the attack left the city in chaos, with broken glass, mangled metal, and plumes of smoke filling the streets. An elderly resident described throwing herself to the ground when a missile struck, and the ensuing flames and chaos.

The attack also had international implications, with Poland reporting that a Russian missile entered their airspace before disappearing from radars.

Despite the devastating impact of the attack, Ukrainian officials confirmed that most of the ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as the Shahed-type drones, were intercepted by the country’s air force.

The attack marks the most massive aerial assault since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. Western officials and analysts had warned about the potential for such a massive attack, as Russia had been limiting its cruise missile strikes for months in preparation for a concentrated assault.

In response to the attack, Ukrainian officials have called for increased support from their Western allies. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak condemned the attack and urged further action in support of Ukraine, while Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba emphasized the urgent need for support in the face of ongoing aggression.

The attack targeted multiple cities, resulting in death and destruction across the country. In the face of tragedy and devastation, Ukrainians continue to call for solidarity and assistance from the international community.
